Ten days on the road, and I made it home tonite as the song goes. Had a good trip and got to see and feel up close an RV9a, an RV 6A and an RV 12. Bob Kibby donated a couple of hours to my education, he completed his a year ago and was doing the first annual on it. Gave me the chance to view some modifications that I will be doing on mine as well. I never quite understood some of the areas, like making cuts so you can annual the plane without removing the fuel tank, and the most simple and effective canopy prop, see photo 2. Just a piece of pipe! I also stopped in Giddings Texas to check out the "Airborne Kustomz" paint shop. I was VERY impressed, he had two RV's in there and I got to see his excellent prep work as well as the outstanding final finish. Pretty well sealed up who is going to paint mine.

And how to make it so you don't have to remove your tank.
