Brief Description: Still Playing Waiting Game
|

|
Trying to work ahead to overcome shortages has been a losing game. I had to order wheel bearing grease from Aircraft Spruce, usually they are a very responsible organization to deal with. After waiting for some time for the grease, I found they had back ordered it! Was supposted to be in yesterday, so today when I checked to see if it was on the way, they changed the back order ship date to a month from now! They could have let me know that. I just substituted the Mobil 28 for the Aeroshell 22 if they have it in stock. Airplanes stuff is really crazy, wheel bearing grease for the same bearings in a land vehicle is different and far cheaper than airplane grease, go figure. I decided to work on a "one man wing installation jig", actually copied another builders ideas. He has installed and removed his wings by himself 30-40 times without incident. Most claimed it was not possible. I will soon know, I am going to attach the wings in the driveway in a couple of days - lIF I EVER GET MY GREASE!!! I did get my missing bolts to attach the flaperons, will do that today to get ready for the wing attach operation. One has to drill the flaperon control mechanism parts for a match while the wings are installed. I will remove them immediately after, well maybe not immediately, I want to see neighbors reaction when they drive by and see an aircraft in the driveway!
