Brief Description:  Centre Section #3

Finished riveting the F-804 aft floor supports angles, the F-804G vertical bars, and the F-804C bulkheads.

Stopped by Home Depot on the way home and picked up 1/4 bolts x 3.5 inches, with washers and nuts. When I got home, I noticed how tight they were just entering the spar attach holes, so into the drill press everyone of them went, sanded down with 350 and 400 grit until the bolt could slide fairly easily into the hole.

Attached the two centre sections together with the spar blocks in place. Final drilled the #30 and #40 holes in the centre section.

Countersunk the two nutplate holes in the centre section.

Removed spar blocks, installed the nutplates, placed the F-849 Fwd control mount in place with bolts, added the F-804 seatbelt lugs and spacers and put it all back together again.

Tightened down the hardware spar bolts and then riveted only the 12 AN470AD4-4s, leaving out the nutplates and two rivets for later installation.

Added the bushings on both sides.

Also retrieved all of the parts for the seat belt rib assembly for tomorrow night.

In the background on picture 3, you can see the instructions for the rear rudder pedal assembly. I will install the brackets to the gear towers sooner than later. I don't know why Van's just doesn't address it when you build the towers if you are putting rear pedals in.
