In order to install the Autopilot Roll Servo, I have to remove the stock aileron bell crank bracket. Unfortunately, the two nuts that attach the bracket can only be reached through a lightening hole forward of the main spar. To access this hole, I had to remove the fuel tank.
No problem......except for the dozen or so 8R8 screws that were bound and had to be drilled out. Of course, access sucked on more than half of them, so it literally took all day to get them out. After, I retapped the nutplates.
So, next day realized the aileron bellcrank brackets used nutplates and the whole tank removal effort was wasted effort...lesson learned, always look at the drawing first.
