Spent about 4.5 hours today assembling the aileron trim, but I kept making mistakes so eventually I gave up for now. First, mistake was I only measured the attach bracket once before cutting and ended up cutting it at 3&3/16" instead of 3&13/16. Thus, I had to fab another one from AL sheet, which turned out o.k. I pressed on until I again trimmed the actuator weldment tube too short. Since, this was obviously not something I could correct. I stopped and placed an order to Vans for all the replacement parts and extra hardware req's I'd been accumulating. Changing gears, I went ahead and manufactured the final control rod; this one being the one that connects the control columns to the elevator bellcrank. Then, I worked on installing the static line, getting it entirely put in up to the point where it will have to cross under the seat back bulkhead and down through the flap motor housing. Finally, I began looking at the installation of the SV-1 vent inlets.
