Brief Description:  Sealing Fuel Tanks, Part 1

For both tanks: (1) Sealed and back-riveted the tank stiffeners. (2) Sealed and riveted the fuel filler nozzles including the attaching of the vent line bracket. Penny had to buck these for me. Many of the rivets tried to lay over on her because she had trouble bucking on the odd angle with the rivets slippery from the Proseal. Everything feels solid, however, so I kept them as for the most part, only drilling out and replacing two rivets. (3) Sealed and squeezed the rivets for the sump drains. Lessons learned: (1) ProSeal is very messy and sticky to work with. Just accept it and know that MEK is very good at cleaning it up afterwards. (2) You can't be too prepared for the task before mixing the sealant. I did a good deal of prep, but I also was trying to get a lot done in one session. With the 80+ deg-F garage temps. I only had about 75 minutes of good working time, before the sealant became stiff and hard to work with. With Penny's help I made it, but it was close...
