Brief Description:  Primed HS parts

Primed all HS parts required. Used the HVLP electric sprayer and had numerous issues. 1) Overspray is terrible. Used nearly an entire quart to paint 14 parts. Most paint ended up on the walls of the booth. The flow pattern is adjustable but not the air pressure. I didn't realize until just now, that instead of the vertical setting, I probably should've set it to the circular setting... 2) Didn't realize the fine tip nozzle wasn't installed until after the first coat. Lots of drips and runs on the parts. Since they'll be internal, I don't think I'll do a lot of sanding to correct. However, need to more thoroughly check equipment before use! 3) The paint booth plastic didn't hold up well in places, and the booth was too small. Ended up running into the walls alot. 4) The painting rack is way too flexible for the lightweight parts. They flopped around like traffic signals in a hurricane. It was impossible to get a consistent spray pattern. I will have to look at alternatives, like tacking them to a rigid chicken wire mesh and manually turning them between coats. Great learning experience and found lots of room to improve...
