Deems RV10 Project

Date:  1-12-2006
Number of Hours:  3.10
Manual Reference:  Sec 17-4
Brief Description:  Sec 17-4 steps 1-5 right

Attached Outboard leading edge to RIGHT wing spar and ribs and top skin. Enlarged tie down hole to 1/2 " using step drill. Able to squeeze all of the rivets on the bottom side, Judy bucked the rivets on the top skin side. The plans call for optional LP4-3 pop rivets for attaching the ribs of the OBLE to the spar, and I opted to take advantage of that 9I hate bucking AN 470 with ackward holds for bucking bars, they always turn out with problems. I need to buck the last 6 rivets on the inboard most rib (The one that is nexyt to the fuel tanks) I'll do that in the morning, where there is better light. I've still got this @$#!#@ California flu, and I'm only good for a couple of hours of work each day. The freight company called today and the Fuse kit will be delivered next Tues !!!!!.Yesterday I built the wing cradle. I built it out of a wings stand that someone in the valley had built for an RV-6. He's an engineer, and the thing is overbuilt, but I was able to use all of the hardware and most all of the lumber. I'm running out of room in the Casita. Went to the local EAA mtg Tues pm and Don Ridder the Pres of the chapter has an empty hanger, and he's willing to let me store the wings there. So I guess that I've got another 2-4 weeks of work to finish up the Left wing (once the new rear spar arrives Tues). And then there will be space in the Casita to start the Fuse. I won't be able to complete the Fuse in there, as there will be no way to get it through the door, but I can build lots of the parts and then move the project into the garage.
