Brief Description:  Sec 43.5 control sticks

I've had a break for several weeks,A. my son Patrick returned home from 2 years in UK and it's been nice getting reacquainted. B. It's been hotter than !@#$ here ( 115-118!!) and just too hot to be in the garage. So, I've spent a lot of time the past couple of weeks in planning my panel and electrical system (in-doors!). I'm going w the Z14 dual alternator/dual battery from Aero Electric connection. I've ordered all of the radios, EFIS, Alternator, switchs, contactors, fuse blocks, circuit breakers and other stuff to get the wiring done. It should all arrive this week! Meanwhile Patrick and I temporarily installed the HS and elevators to see if we would have a problem with the CH control grips when it hit the elevator stops. Turns out that I still have an interference problem with the panel. the upright portion of the grip needs to be rotated back (aft) about 20-22 degrees so that the top of the CH grips will clear the panel. So today, I cut off the metal grip handle, and ground/filed the control stick to provide the 20 degree angle, then I took them to Bill who TIG welded them, they turned out nice, he only wanted 10$, but it was worth at lest 20$ to me!. Got them home and cleaned up the bottoms to look a little more streamlined. With the bottoms cut on an angle, I think I can drill/grind a hole in the inside curved portion so that I don't have to drill a hole from the rear. We'll see/ One more day and Pat an I leave for OSH!!
