Brief Description:  Sec Final-37

I order to finish rigging the ailerons I need to install and adjust the flaps. Before that though I had to find the bushings that I made over 2 1/2 years ago !!!! I had just about given up, when I found them in the one place I hadn't looked. Upon examination a couple of them looked a little narrow, So I got out some Alum tube and cut/ filed and burnished 3-4 replacements. The bearings are supposed to be press-fit into the flap attach arms, but it didn't take much to get them to go in. I started on the left flap, and got it hung but quickly found that it would fully retract, After several minutes of trying to figure out where it was binding up, it turns out that the problem was interferrance between the inboard edge of the flap and the fuselage. I started with the Dremel tool to remove some material, but ended up switching to the Vixen file, and shaving the ends of the upper and lower flap skins back in order to clear the fuse. I did this to both sides as both sides were too long. It took quite some time doing it by hand, but since they are already painted, this was the best option. After getting them clear of the fuse, I opened a gap between them and the fuse of 1/16" - 3-32" to allow for expansion during a heat soaked stay outside in the sun. I got both sides hooked up and tested them with the flap positioning system. All seems to be working AOK. I'm still a bit unsure if the ailerons shounld be rigged 'in -line' with the flaps or if they should be 'reflexed up a couple of degrees?
