Brief Description:  Sec 47 finishing step 3

Finished preparing the lower cowl for priming (almost!). I removed the intake rings and cleaned up the flox that I had added to fill the areas created by the clay when pouring the initial ring retainers. then hand sanded the lower cowl w/ 100 grit. There are some areas around the ram air intake that will need several heavy coats of primer/filler to fill some creases. the Cam Loc's arrived before I left for Las Vegas, and I installed them on the oil door. these are the adjustable kind, Theya are realy neat, you rivet the base in place and then install the phillips head spring part and then screw then until they are tight and where you want them , then pull out a retaining pin, and they are locked at the right height/depth. If you need to change them later, you can insert a needle and reinsert the plastic pin and readjust them, Pretty cool. After I had them installed, I taped some Saran wrap around the door opening and mixed up some smooth Prime and spread it over the door, as there are some minor differences in height after riveting the hinge halves. I'll sand everything flush tomorrow and then its ready for Smooth Prime. the Spinner arrived from Aero Composites also, si I can finish that and prime it as well.
while I was in Vegas, I slipped over to visit Rick Sked and see his project. NICE!!!!! Got some pointers for installing the CH grips and the relay boards, and also for locks for the door handles. THANKS RICK!
