Brief Description:  Sec 47 Finishing Step 2

More (lots) sanding today. Sanded the spinner ring and the flox build-ups on th elower cowl so that they are flush with the upper. Boy this stuff was a bugger went through a lot of 60 grit, but it's getting nice and flushed up. I filled the horizontal seams last night after taping the upper with duct tape. I want a nice and tight fit between the cowl halves. I was worried that thismight not work, but after splitting the halves and removing the tape and then rejoining the halves and sanding the seam flush 9along with the fiberglass strips covering the rivet lines, it looks really good!. I repaired the flox pour around the intake rings on the lower cowl, when I pressed some modeling clay in between the halves at the last minute when initially pouting the flox retainer rings, It left a large gap around split in the cowl halves where there is no retainer ring. So after splitting the halves again, I took some modeling clay and made a dam behind the ring, mixed up some Flox/Cobosil, then used some syringes to inject it into the voids. the olny steps remaining prior to spraying smooth prime are to rough sand the lower cowl for adhesion, and fit and fair as necessary the oil door. I'm off for a couple of ay's of fun and golf with some old friends so this will have to wait til next Monday.
