Finished the fwd nose gear leg slot cover. I dimpled the skin and countersunk the lower cowl. Ended up installing regular #8 nutplates as the fiberglass was thick enough so that after countersinking enough to accept the dimpled cover there was still enough material left. In order to cutout the recess for the nose gear leg fiaring, I had to finish the attachment of it to the nose gear. Had to sand off some of the smooth prime in order to see where to match drill for the nutpates. Attached the nutplates per the plans except had to use a pop rivet for the upper rivet in each nut plate not enough room to get a bucking bar or squeezer in there. Attached the fairing and then figured out and layed out the recess on the fwd cover to allow for the gear leg fairing. I sized up the aft cover plate and the Van's supplied 'hanger' but apparently the James cowl is about 3/4" deeper than the Van's cowl so the bracket is that much too short. I'll need to make another that much longer an then I can attach it to the Aft slot cover and then complete the install of the aft cover to the lower cowl.
