1st thing today, I replaced the upper cowl to see if the 'solution' for homing the pin into the hidden hinge worked. UREKA! it did! REmoved upper and lower cowl, sanded the front edges of the lower cowl and applied duct tape (release) to the forward edges of the upper cowl. Then inserted the hinge pins to bring them together and applied a 6 ply lay-up to the forward seam of the upper and lower colw. When this is cured, I will trim it to an approproate ehight 1" to 3/4" above the lower cowl and then install 2 #8 nutplates on each side which will allow me to bring the front of the spinner ring relatively flush. I expect that there will be some Super Fil work to do to even out the joggle, but tihs is getting much closer. After this is done the next step is to install/flox ing the inlet rings!
