Combo update, Fri,Sat,Mon. Fri. Finished up mounting the center stack trays and the centerstack sub-panel. I test fit the panel and found that I had some interferrence w/ the JPI EIU and the Copilot EFIS. So I moved the JPI EIU to the forward side of the instrument subpanel. I figured out which cables from the JPI need to be passed forward thru the firewall, and routed them. then I finished up sealing the EPM Stainless Steel firewall passthru. On Saturday John Cox was here for a n EAA tech councilor review of my project. He identified several things forward of the firewall that could be improved. One was the cyl head baffles were rubbing directly on the heads. I removed the tension rods, and applied a bead of red RTV to the fwd and aft baffles on each side. I'll let this set up overnight and then resecure. so that tomorrow i'll be able to connect the CHT harness to the probes. I replaced the cotter keys on the engine mount with stainless steel. Added 5 more adel clamps to further secure some of the hoses. Also shortened the Manifold Pressure hose. I don't know why Van's has these hoses so long. I picked up a mandrel from Aerozona parts this am. I was reluctant to make any of my own hoses, but after remaking this one, its really not a big deal. Tomorrow I'm tackeling the EGT & CHT harness. i've been reluctant to do this as I want a neat/tidy engine compartment, and I'm afraid I'll screw up and get one of the probes too short. I cut a section off one of the harness leads and did a dry run test of one of the EGT probes.
