Friday, Finally got the right mounts and rehoisted the engine and pushed it up into position only to find that I have an interfeence issue with the Engine mount cross member. This is an issue that Tim ran into also. I called Van's and talked To Scott Risan (VERY HELPFUL). He reported that they had made a change to the mount after Tim's incident and while they had heard incidents from people of it being very close Mine was the 1st they had heard of actual interference. They requested I ship the mount back to them, and they will put the fix on it similar to Tim's. they just want to make sure that something hasn't changed in their mount set-up. I believe that part of the problem is that the CAS system from Barrett has a custom cast oit sump that must be larger then the stock Lyc. Scott @ Van's is awarre the I have a BPE engine, and he was extremly friendly and willing to help. so thie next week, will be spent doing mics 'catch-up' items. So after we put the engine 'back to bed' John Ackerman helped me pull the nose gear and engine mount. Two steps backward !
