Brief Description: checked out panel for functionality
Began today with yet another run to the electronics store. The Antenna that comes with the AHRS from CrossBow is not powered and OP recommends (AND Includes) one that they believe works much better which is powered. So I needed an SMA connector to attach it to the AHRS. I works sporadically, I believe the problem is that I'm indoors and under a tile roof that inpeeds reception. I can get GPS signals but can't get the lock on to the 3 stations to verify. That's why you see the Big X across some of the windows. I checked out the Audio panel /intercom with pilot and co-pilot headsets, AOK. Also The SL30 (NAV1/COM1) and the SL40 (COM2). they checked out just fine. I hooked up an antenna to COM1 and was able to receove transmissions from inbound a/c to APC. Also verified the RS 232 interface between NAV/Com's and the EFIS's. Able to display and change freq's from either the radios or the EFIS's. I haven't got the Engine Monitor to communicate. I don't know if it's because I haven'e hooked up any probs yet or not. Sent a note off to OP for some clarification. I also don't know how to validate the Autopilot RS 232 connect at this point. I've got a lot of little things to do with the panel, at this point I believe I'm going to turn this back into a 'background'/'filler' set of tasks and try to move back to completing the airframe. It's cooled somewhat from the Sumer high temps and I can get back into the garage now.
