Began the fuel system today. A LOT of head scratching and noodeling and not a lot of labor. I'm using the Andair valve from Van's. contrary to other builders reports I want to mount it to the top of the tunnel. I did some measurements and it should (?) be possible to get the scat tube through if the lines can be bent properly. We'll see..... I took some time to match the valve to the tunnel cover. I intend to make a fiberglass console that goes on top of all of this, but I want the fuel valve in the same place regardless. So began by figuring out a mount for the Andair. I sued a couple pieces of alum angle, and part of a rear spar from a bad wing piece from Van's. Got this matched to the tunnel cover, then bagan the bending of the fuel lines. There's no way to get it all threaded through the tunnel in one piece so I cut the line after it exits the tunnel towards the wing, and will put a coupling about mid-way outboard. LOTS of trial and error , and it's not all that easy to reach in and over the fuse sides for a fat ol' man! I've pretty much got the left and right feed lines bent and semi installed. Tomorrow I'll work on connectin git to the filter and pump and then plumbing to the firewall. I don't have my Flo-Scan yet. so that will be something to come back on.
