Brief Description:  Sec 29-16 steps 1-10

Yesterday was spent doing taxes, or rather avoiding taxes, For the 1st time, I am paying No Fed or State income tax, zip, zero, nada!!! Well, back to airplane building, Reassembled and riveted together all of the Fude understructure, Additionally, I replaced the WD-1002L weldment, the top flange ended up being too close to the edge and it worried me, Called Van's and had them send a replacement, I drilled the old one off, and re-riveted the new one on, It actually went quicker than I thought, Then re-drilled the top, bottom and side flanges, only this time I put a clamp on the top and bottom to bring them in closer to avoid getting close to the edge again, worked like a charm. I also made a modification to the Step attachment, based on a note I saw on Matronics about someone noticing the the steps seems 'loose and with too much give in them. It consisted of taking the outboard baggage ribs off and drilling out the fwd and aft most rivets that attach the plate to the rib, and then fashioning, some J stiffeners, priming them and then re-riveting them and the attach bracket to the ribs, I don't know if it will help, but it certaintly won't hurt. The last item on this page is to re-cleco all of the skins back on the fude preparatory to riveting them,
