Brief Description:  Sec 15-3 steps 1-4 left

Prepare the Spar doublers for the Left and Right wing spars. I noticed that the outboard doubler W1007E-L on th eLeft spar projected above the spar flange by about 1/10" of an inch, I thought this a little odd, as most of Van's parts fit pretty ,much exact, As I finished the steps for th eLeft spar and began on the right spar The parts DID fit exactly with no projections above, i went back and reexamined the Left spar and found the the spar flange (TOP) of the Left spar was too short, and that the 'tapering' of the flange began around mid spar and continued to the end. since the #40 holes for attaching the skins are drilled in reference to the rear of the spar flange these holes are going to be way off (1/10") from the skins and this isn't going to work, so a call to Van's got Gus on the line, sent him some pic's and he sent back e-mail that they will send out another spar. The problem is that it's 12' long and requires to be shipped via freight. I told them that I had a Fuse kit being shipped the week of Jan 7, and that they could include it with that kit if it worked for them, he checked on it and got back to me today and said that woudl work for them, I'll got ahead on the right wing while I wait, and figure I can get the right wing skins on and attach Fuel tanks and leading edges while waiting.
