Brief Description:  Sec Final-51

It rained all last night and early today, probably the last rain we'll see until the monsoons this summer. Parker and I headed off to the airport today to glue in the door seals. I've tried 3 diferent automotive types of weatherstip / seal glue, and none of them worked worth a @#$!. I finally settled on the idea of ProSeal. that stuff sticks to ANYTHING , and it has the benefit of being able to be removed it I want to change/replace the door seal. I mixed up a couple of ozs. and put it into a plastic baggie. I cut a very small portion off of the corner of the bag, So that when squeezed it emits a ribbon about 3/32" wide. I rough cut a section of new door seal material and then appplied 1/2" ribbons every 1/2" along the edge of the cabin cover so that it would contact the U channel in the door seal. I did this in 3 sections: Top and front sides, bottom and 1/2 of back, and remainder of back and top. by using only the narrow bead, I was able to avoid getting glue on the exterior, there was a couple of places where it seeped out, but some solvent cleaned that up. I used a rubber mallet to set the seals firmily in place, and the closed each door to hold the seal in place while it cures over the weekend. It's a bugger to get the doors closed with the new seal material. Hopefully ti will compress a bit with the doors being closed for the weekend. Don't have any pcs of the process, as the camera batt was down, but got these pics as we prepared to leave.
