Brief Description:  Sec Final-24

Began this morning by finishing off the door hardware, Primarily, ensuring the hinge attach hardware matched Van's plans. Then I worked on the front seats. The front seats will not slide onto the seat rails, with the flap torque tube cover in place without some modification. So I removed the nylon rail guides from the seats and cut a tapered section out of the top portion of each guide. I measured about 1 1/2" back and then cut out the top portion of the guide. This allows you to install the seats by tipping the rea portion of the seat up (clearing the flap tube cover) and then sliding the guides on the seat rails. I made some 'adjustments to the seat rails. For some strange reason the platform that the seat rails mount to is not level, and this causes the seat rails to bow/bend which in turn causes the seat to hang up on the rails. I adjusted it by raising the forward portion of the seat rails slightly.
When I installed a test strip of the 3M anti chaffe tape on the underside of the wing, my 'peel' test resulted in pulling some of the clear coat off, before reapplying the tape to the entire underside of the wing edge. I need to smooth out the portions where the paint seperated and then repaint this portio nbefore reapplying. I got the surface sanded smooth, and just need to put some new paint back on.
