Brief Description:  Sec Final-11

When I moved to the No.- side hangars I met some REALLY good new friends, 2 of them are Micky and Jerry, I see them almost everyday I'm out there, they built a beautiful RV7. The other day they asked if I had any need for any machined parts, I shook my head and said no. then I got to thinking about the crappy plastic blast tubes I rigged for my magnetos. Yesterday I mentioned to them what I was thinking about Jerry immediately got out the calipers took measurements and made some notes. And today Mickey dropped the finished parts off !!!! Wow airplane friends are the BEST IN THE WORLD THANKS GUYS! I had set out today to install the 3M anti chafe tape on the underside of the wings where the flaps rub, but when Mickey had the parts there, I couldn't resist. I had to take a lot off of the aft flanges in order to provide some clearance with the crankcase and engine mounts, then figure where I'd put 3 rivets, match drilled them to the aft baffle, deburred, and then riveted them, got all using AN 470-5's except for one I had to use an LP4-3 pop. I noodled on how to fashion a bracket so as to direct the blast directly onto the surface of the magneto. I ended up using the mounting stud for the mag's themselves, and made a standoff bracket n(.0625"), and then used a DG 10 (?) clamp on the end of the bracket to hold the 5/8" scat tube and orient it correctly. Got the left side installed, need to finish up with the right side tomorrow. These are a MAJOR improvement over the old blast tubes and their mounts.
