Brief Description:  Sec Home-79

I had some issues with scat tube. It's obviousl that the rudder cable arms cannot interfer with any other airframe parts. The tube for the right side/heater valve front seats was solved by simply shortening the length of the scat tube. The left side / rear seats/cabin, was solved by repositioning Van's support bracket to the left side, mounted lower and further forward this ensures the tube is clear of and below the cables. Then I securred the rudder cables directly to the control arms, using an AN 6A bolt, castelated nut and cotter key. If you mounted the pedal assembly further forward you could add some links to the arms similar to Van's pedals. Next step was to reattach the Matco brake cylinders. This was the hardest part of the job. mostly because of difficulty in access. the arms that the brake cylinders attach to are at the top fwd side of the assembly and have minimum access, compounded by being upside down, under the panel and 110 degrees! Paul supplied 2 alternatives one being a clevis pin and the other an AN - A bolt and castle nut. I used both and found the bolt took about half as much time to install as the clevis pins. If you were doing this as an initial install, I would install the brake cyls before installing the assembly and you could save hours!!!! One side effect of the new pedals is that the repositioned brake cylinders change the lengths of the brake lines. the old/existing ones could be made to wrok, but I've decided to get the black teflon coated stainless steel braided lines from Bonaco, and I'm taking with Brett about the lengths and config for the new lines.
