I finished up installing the aft baggage bulkhead with the access door modification. I exchanged some of the camloc fasteners (-5's) for some with a shorter throw (-4's) . I think that using the 2 in the corners will work OK. I also cut out a hole for the 12V power receptical and then mounted the whole shebang using clecos. The door opens and closes without any binding, seems like I'll have reasonable access to most of the items in the aft for service without having to remove the bulkhead itself. The whole bulkhead will be covered (held w/ velcro) by an upholstered piece that has EXPERIMANTAL embroidered on it. The heat is beginning to take it's toll on me, so not too much progress today. I think I've figured out how to finish the side panels (pilot and co-pilot) in the forward cabin. The issues is that the compund curves at the top are not in the same plane as the intercostals or the fuse ribs to which a close out panel needs to be attached. So I used some mylar packing tape. to make a 'form' that will transition from the upper compound curve area to the lower (wider) portion of the close out. Then I layed-up an 4 ply section of fiberglass, when it cures I'll rivet/bind it to a piece (.025") of 2024 alclad, and the combo will get covered with thin foam and the tweed upholstery material. I need to figure out how to get some map pockets sewn/attached to the lower portions of the combo close-outs.
