Continued addressing the electrical 'to-do's. I decided to take advantage of one of the features of the EPS 404 Strobe light system/power supply that I have. i.e. the ability to change the strobe pattern to any one of 10-12 different patterns. I doubt I'll use this much, but if/when i do, it's a lot easier to hit a button in the cockpit, than to open up the atilcone and jump some wires. I ammounted to running 1 new wire from the main buss back through the control grip stick underseat wiring point, and installing a momentary push button switch and connecting the power wire, switch to the strobe pattern control lead that I had previously brough forward from the power supply. I mounted the switch on the forward portion of the seat close-out panel, just below the switch to ground/deacivate the co-pilot trim switches. They both can be reched in flight just under my right knee/leg. The rest of the day was spent fixing a nagging problem with the WAAS GPS not working. I suspected it was antenna related, and got 2 new TNC connectors from Mouser, double checked the crimp spec with Tyco website/pdf. adn installed two new coax connectors. It turns out the porblem was in the cabin cover roof connector that attaches to the antenna itself, the signal pin was some how shorted to the shield. I reconnected the co-pilot MFD, and center console, rolled it all out into the drieway for clear lineof sight, and retested- SUCEESS ... I now have 2 WAAS capable GPS, with one of them certified.
