Apart for reassembling everything to double check fit, I finished the empennage fairing today. I also believe that I've driven/squeezed my last rivet on this plane. I did have to take the Vertical stab off in order to get the nutplates drilled ,dimpled and installed on the Horizontal, While off I also did the same for those nutplate that attach to the Vert. Additionally, I installed the 3 nutplate that go on the tailcone aft upper skin. After all of that I had to remove the Horizontal in order to drill, and tap, and finish the close out cover for the bottom of the fairing. I had noticed that after trimming the fiberglass fairing to meet the closeout piece that it is possible for the close out to 'bow' outboard from the fuse side, and present a 'gap' that's a drag and water producer potential. So While I was prepping the closeouts, I riveted a small tab of '032" to the fron tof each, This tabl will fit behind the fiberglass fairing at the bottom and will keep the closeout and the rubber from pulling away from the fuse and moving outboard. Drilled all of the longeron/skin attach holes with 7/64 (didn't have a "36) and then tapped them with a 6-32 tap. Seems to have worked well, I think I'll use some Blue locktite when installing these for final assembly.,
