Brief Description:  Sec Home-31

1st thing mounted the gas struts for right door and tested.. AOK. Tested closing the door with only one pin, It would take an Unnatural effort to twist the door to get only on pin captured. To get the 'blast' tubes to point @ the mags, Got some #10 solid core copper wire and wrapped it around the tube, then used tywrapps to secure. Now I can bend it as needed. The Ram air had a stickly control, turned out the butterfly valve was rubbing on one side. Took some jewelers files and worked on it until it operated smoothly from inside the cockpit. Then final adjusted the conrtol arm and safetied the set screw. I cut the 4" sct tube for the oil cooler to final length and secured it using expandable clamps. Had an issue with the baffling and plenum. The forward most corner #2 cyl needed a screw to secure the front of the baffle to the cross member, but with the plenum installed it can't be reached, I found a 'clip-on floating blind nutplate that works great. I decided to tackle the O2 system install, the biggest issue is fabbing a mounting base to support it's wieght. I settled on some alum supports riveted along the J channels. Drilled out 7 rivets on ea J, Then fabbed some alum angle and flat stock to make the supports. Match drilled them to the J channels. The top pieces of Angle are bolted on serviceability. I'll make the platform of.062" and use countersunk nutplates to flush mount to the mounting brackets. I'm going to reorient my batteries as the cables need to pass under the OS mount and they aren't long enough to reach the current contactor locations.
