Brief Description:  Sec Home-29

This past three days has been a 'chore' ! On Tues I decided I would 'clean up all of the squawks associated with installing the panelinto the airframe. I had 2 issues, XM weather, and WAAS GPS. Initially I thought it was antenna/coax/connecter related. After 2 day's of trouble shooting and phone calls /w Op tech support, I've still got the same two problems. It was really getting me down and buggin me. Althought I don't need either for 1st flight, I promised myself that on the heels of Dan Lloyd, I would fix everything befor flying. I still intend to do that only, I needed to step away from it for a few days. so today, I fabricated some door locks for the Coss flush door handles. I really copied what another builder Gary Foster did. Gary's great at developing these 'solutions' essentially it amounted to cutting and reshaping the locking lever that comes with the key/locks to clear the 'drum' then tapping the drum at its bottom point when the doors are closed for a # 8 hex head screw, Then inserting the screw, trimming the hex screw so that the excess threads don't project into the drum, and securing it w/ Red Locktite. Then I found a piece of 3/16" alum angle and cut a piece to form a tab that would contact the hex set screw. I riveted the 3/16" to the lock lever using AN4 rivets, filed the whole shebang until all surfaces were flush, and the lever/tab just cleared the set screw. Works Great! repeated for other door, and temp installed handles with 1/4" standoffs.
