Finished wiring the rearseat headsets and mic circuits. Bagan today figuring out how to get one of the headset cables from the right side of the cockpit to the left side. Originally I thought I'd go across the rear seat crossmember, but there is some interference in the baggage door closeout. Originally rejecting another 'conduit' across the tunnel, I came back to it as the solution. I opened up the aft top portion of the center tunnel and ran the flaps through a couple of complete cycles to determine if enough room existed to place a brass conduit similar to what I used for the control grips. It turns out that by placing the conduit about 1" below the prepunched hole and about 1/8" aft. there's plenty of room to insert a brass conduit. I used the remaining portion from the conduit for the control grips, capped off both ends with smoe snap bushings, and then epoxied the conduit in place, did this for the control grip conduit as well. Expoxy applied to both sides of the tunnel/tube intersection. Ran one of the 'pigtails' for the rear seat headsets across and thru the tunnel. Then I had to back and do a 'refresher' on wiring the 3 terminal headset/mic jacks. found the materials in my 'wiring' notebook, and wired/tested then soldered the right and left rear passenger jacks. I tested them with all combinations and everything seems to work fine. I also plugged in the IPOD and Viola! it works as well!!! So we'll have some tunes in the background when crosscountry!
