Brief Description:  Sec Home-21

A lot of hours for not much progress. Continuing to work on the electrical system. Objective, connect the control switches in the control sticks. !st task was to wire the pitch trim servo. Used Knuckols modified 9 pin dsub connectors held together w/ shrink wrap. Temp installed both grips cna contreol sticks as wel as the relay deck i received. I purchased some terminal blocks to make it easier to remove the sticks for maintenance and installed them using some supersized pop rivets. i had to temp install the centerconsole panel as it containes the trim LED indicators. wired everything up and NO Joy..... started the troubleshooting process and long story short, I found that one of the dsub pins on the connector to the trim servo had a bad crimp and no continuity through the wire to the relay deck. The good news is that the 'open' was on the end of the wire rather than in the middle buried under seat pans!!!! Reconnected everything to the relay deck and... It worked !!!... for a minute and then quit...??? .... Several hours of trouble shooting followed, the net result was I have a bad relay deck. Called this am and a new one is on its way. Meanwhile, I removed the Van's oil cooler and moved the AN fittings to the New Performance aero cooler, but before reinstalling the new oil cooler, i wanted to fill the 'holes' in the corners of the oil cooler mounting box. got out the beloved Proseal, put some backing duct tape over several of the corners and then applied goop to all corners. Let it cure overnight and will reinstall oil cooler tomorrow.
