The BIG day finally arrived ! I've been anxiously awaiting this day and dreading it since screwing up the headliner. I've put perhaps too much emphasis on having a nice interior, and as I approach the final paint step, I was scared to death I'd screw it up. Painting is really NOT my forte. But this am, I filled a couple of pits that i'd overlooked previously, cleaned the droppings from the rear footwells, and reprimed them. Then sanded all of the primed metal surfaceslightly w/ 320 grit. Vacumed up as much of the dust as I could get, and then took some tack rags and wiped the entire cabin interior down several times. grabbed the fineline tape and masking supplies I picked up on Sat. and masked everything on the interior. Nothing left to do but to spray it. Mixed the paint (Sherwin Williams Ultra Interior Auto paint color matched to the upholstery leather seats). Judy held the air hose and fed me the gun after I climbed in and trued my best to keep my rear and other parts from bumping into wet paint. With Judy's coaching. we got it done. I ran out of paint and only got two coats on the aft portion. I'll lget another pint mixed tomorrow and shoot another couple of coats on the aft section. I did end up with 2 small runs and 1 drip/ After the paint cures for a week or two. I'll sand them and touch them up with the air-brush.
