Mounted the WAAS GPS antenna, and the XM weather antenna on the top of the cabin. i had considered putting them under the cowl on the fwd side of the firewall, I don't think the fiberglass causes any significant signal loss, However, when I test fit the shelf I made with the antennas attached, it was clear that there is a possiblity of some blocking due to the upper firewall. So the Cabin top is ugly with the hinge openings already, So wha't s a couple of ugly antennas more? I attached the respective BNC & SMA fittings to the coax and secured the coax usuing snap bushings and tywraps. Plumbed as much of the pitot static system as I could. I'm short a couple of fittings. Ordered them from MSC they ship really quick out of NV. I also fabbed an engine ground strap from some braided material I picked up yesterday @ Aerozona. I soldered on some fittings, then just for grins I put a piece of 3/4" heat shrink over the length. I attached one end to the mounting bolt that holds the right magneto to the engine case, and the other got attached to the 'Forest of Tabs' on the engine side.
