I retrofitted some door hardware today. 1st task was to remount the Left door. I received some prototype hardware from Dave Czachowrowski @ Full Throttle Concepts aka 'Rivethead'. Actually the hardware was designed by his Uncle Joe/Zack who's building a -10. I swa them installed on Joes' plane and asked Dave if he would make a set for me, and he did. The hardware replaces the UGLY Delrin blocks in the Van's kit. IT also provides a 'centering action' by 'channeling the door into position as well as guiding the pins into a closed and locked position. since I've modified my door mechanism (Coss lataches and pins) and since I finished the door Delrin latch pin blocks an dfiberglassed them to be flush with the inside contour of the door. I needed to 'mill' .256" off of the Aft block, and about .132" off of the front block. A little filling to align the existing doors with the new 'pin receivers' and I've now got a great looking and MUCH more secure door mechanism. Off to a wedding for a few days so the right door will wait til next week.
Here's the hardware that Dave produced
Modified aft receiver block installed
Booth blocks installed and door latched and fit checked.
