installed the nutplates on the brackets and then attached them to the fairing, These matched up better then the main gear, but it still took some 'fitting' ie. filing to get the screws to match straight into the nuitplates. I alos repaired the misdrilled hole for the left tow bar attach point and then redrilled after I mounted the rear fairing. I put duck tape over the outside of the 1" hole , made a 2" square 4 ply lay-up, filled the hole with flox, to just slightly above the inside surface, then put the lay-up one and peel plied the edges. Put it under the halogen lights for a faster cure. Installed # 6 nutplates on the rear fairing and drilled and countersunk the front for mating the two. A little bit of 'fitting' here required as well. the new tow bar hole now matches perfectly, the seam between the halves will require filling similar to the mains. to get an 'even seam/gap. Now that the nose gear fairing is fitted I brought the plane down off the supports. forgot that's it still tail heavy, so I still have a saw horse under the tail. Started on the nose leg fairing, by cuttin gout the relieve areas per the plans template. then cut marked and fitted the piano hinge. Marked both sides for rivet holes but didn't get them drilled. Don Ridder brought by an engine hoist, so w/ John Ackerman's help I think that tomorrow we'll attempt to hang the engine! Stand by!
