Brief Description: Sec 45-15 Right and Sec 45-16 steps 2-4 Left & Rig
Finished off drilling and installing the pin blocks on the Right door frame, It's a little snug, but the doors and hardware will come on and off again at least 1 or 2 more times, and I'll buff the latch pins a little more at that time. The on to installing the gas Struts for both doors. Initially I thought I had a big problem in that I may have placed the strut attach bracket too far outboard and it caused the brackets on the other end to project a little beyond the window frame. Also there appeared to be some interference between the gas strut and the inside of the door itself near the uppere attach point when the door was closed. I reversed the gas strut from the pic in the plans, and sanded off on a diagonal the part of the bracket that projected outboard too far, and it appears that it's going to work fine. I still have a little interference at the top of the inside doors where the gas strut rubs against the door near the hinge recess, I believe that some carefull sanding/filing w a half round file will remove enough fiberglass material to eliminate the interference.
