Brief Description:  Sec 45-9,-10,-11,-13 Right door

Several weeks ago I ordered the Coss Aviation Door latches, They come from S. Africa, and are CNC machined pieces of equipment that look MUCH better than the utilitarian handles/latches that Van's supplies. Another Builder, Gary Foster (OK) is several steps ahead of me, and he sent me some pic's of his install. those and a couple of phone calls, have made a BIG difference in installing these. As you can see, the handles and mechanism are one complete unit. Today's task was to figure out how to cut out the door skins to allow for the handle to mount. Gary's suggestion of cutting 2 holes, 1" and 1 1/2" and then cutting out between them worked great. I took a lot of time on this one and only did the right door today, the Left should be easier tomorrow. I have a little area arounbd the handle that will need to be filled, but it came out reasonably well. I can't locate the pins that came with Van's kit, so I may have to put another Van's order in tonight. I also ordered extra keys from ACS to match my ignition key set. that way all the key's will be the same. I'm using 2 that I have already for the door install, and ordering 2 to replace, th eones i'm using. (Baggage door & spare). The current install has the door hinge flush with the outside of the door skin, Gary installed his with more of a reveal on the outside, I'm debating whether or not I want to do that or leave them flush.
