I wanted a nice transition from the wing surfaces to the nuts that attach the rear wing fitting to spar. At the same time, I wanted a way to attach the canoe without having to drill into the spar. So, I used a two 1/4 inch pieces of oak plywood and glued them together to make 1/2.. I made a pattern of the bolt holes and drilled them with a forstner bit. I then attached the block to the spar with 3m epoxy adhesive.I let it cure over night and sanded the edges to match the curve of the wing. Installed brass thread inserts for 8-32 screws
