Brief Description:  Installed Mufflers/Heat Muffs

FINALLY WORKING IN SHOP AGAIN AFTER MARCH 2018 HEEL FRACTURE ! ! !

Installed the mufflers/Heat Muffs on both sides of engine.
- Bent the stainless hanger straps using bench vise per the Vetterman sketch, using a protractor to measure the 20 degree bends.
- Installed the cable hanger assembly loosely between the hanger strap and the exhaust pipe bracket, including the steel tab for the hanger sway assembly.
- Installed the 3 bolts with springs that hold the muffler ball assembly to the exhaust manifold, leaving the bolts un-tightened.
- Installed the stainless strap to the engine mount using #12 cushion clamps with AN3-4 bolts, washer, and metal lock nuts provided. Tightened the clamps with strap.
- Tightened the hanger cable assembly, centering the muffler ball assembly
- Tightened the bolts with springs holding the muffler ball assembly until 2 threads were showing on each nut. (Per Vetterman instructions, springs are not bottomed out by over tightening the flange bolts.)

Appear to be missing the anti-sway assembly ends, which look to be round tubing with a flattened end which gets clamped into each end of a short rubber tube and then bolted to a cushion clamp on the engine mount and to the steel tab installed on the muffler hanger bolt. Will need to call Van's to find out if I need to fabricate these or if they were just not included in the exhaust kit.
