Brief Description:  Epoxy Finish Coat on Windscreen Fairing

Found that the prior day's coat of thin epoxy-micro resulted in a rough finish. Sanded the finish down smooth, including sanding the lower edge down to the 20 mil PVC tape.

Removed the PVC tape, sanded the epoxy edge slightly, and then placed a strip of electrical tape at that edge which should allow the next coat to have an even edge but with a much thinner edge which will be easier to sand out flush with the aluminum skin.

Mixed up 4 pumps of epoxy and added black colorant in order to have a more uniform top color in the fairing and be better able to see the epoxy coverage when painting it onto the fairing. Painted this mix onto the fairing. Then periodically wiped off the epoxy drips that formed along the lower edge, particulary along the rear parts of the fairing which are nearly vertical and so prone to drips. As the epoxy began to cure I was disappointed to see that there were still a lot of small air bubbles in the surface which will have to be sanded out after it cures.

Added a second coat of light gray touch-up paint to the lower inside flange of the left rear window, using a painting trip pad this time instead of a brush.
