Brief Description:  First Fiberglass Layer on Windscreen

Cleaned up the epoxy fillet at the plexiglass/top skin interface with 80 grit sandpaper. Vacuumed up the sanding dust and cleaned the area with alcohol.

Cut 2 lengths of 4" fiberglass tape each about 40 inches long.
Mixed up epoxy (3 pumps) with black dye and micro to a syrup consistency.

Painted the area from the electrical tape down onto about 2 inces of the top skin on one half using a chip brush with short bristles. Layed one length of the fiberglass tape onto the epoxy and using the brush wet out the fiberglass tape while positioning it up against the top electrical tape. Wiped up excess epoxy from below the fiberglass on the top skin.

Painted the other half of the windscreen and top skin with epoxy. Layed the other length of fiberglass tape onto the epoxy. Mixed up a second batch of epoxy/dye/micro (2 pumps) and used this along with the brush to wet out the fiberglass tape and position it against the top electrical tape. Cleaned up the epoxy from areas above and below the fiberglass tape using alcohol on a paper towel.

Assembled the new 8" low speed grinder purchased this morning to replace the grinder that stopped working. Installed the Scotch Brite wheel on the right side, and trued both wheels with a diamond dressing tool.

Unpacked, inventoried and put away in the parts trays all of the screws, bolts, nuts, and washer purchased from AircraftSpruce to ensure I have extras for use when piece of hardware is damaged or lost.
