Brief Description:  Left Door Mounting

Installed the left side gas strut attach bracket to the cabin top. This time I shimmed the inside end of the bracket using 2 fender washers with one side cut off to fit without interference with the overhead console. I also drilled the inner hole from the top of the cabin after installing the outer 2 screws. This made the bracket more solidly attached than the one I installed on the right side.

Re-attached the door to the hinges. Then installed the cabin pin blocks from PlaneAround. The rear pin lock required sanding of the front face, but the width of the block was fine on this door and didn't require trimming. The front pin block required some sanding of both the front face and the side mounting face. Installed both pin blocks when they fit within the doors.

Tested the door latch and found that the door had shifted a bit lower making the latch hard to move. In an attempt to adjust this, I removed the door and then added shims under the hinges where they attach to the cabin top. Used .035" aluminum sheet for the front shims, and 0.065" for the rear shims. Re-attached the hinges and then the door to the hinges. This helped a little, but not enough.
Will have to try something else tomorrow.
