Brief Description:  Instrument Lights, Overhead Lights

Continued trouble shooting Switch Lights. Removed PFD-2 in order to access GAD 27.
Removed connector from GAD 27 and used meter to look for proper function of lighting pots. Could not find resistance from any of the 3 pots.

Removed the DB-9 connector installed between pots and the GAD 27 connector and found the common pin missing. Opened up the back shell to find the pin had slipped out of the connector. Tried to re-insert the pin and found it wouldn't stay in the connector. In order to replace the pin, had to gain better access to the connector, which required removing PFD-1. Removed PFD-1 and removed the left side of the avionics tray behind PFD-1 to access the pots connector.

Found that I had used micro pins which are too small for the DB-9 connector. Cut off all 4 pins and crimped on the correct pins and inserted them into the DB-9. Now have proper resistance at the GAD 27 connector for all 3 pots. While had access, drilled a #30 hole in the left side of tray and installed the ELT sounder with a #4 screw and nut since the carpet tape used was not holding it in place. Re-installed PFD-1 and the GAD 27 connector and powered up G3X system. Lights now working. Set the intensity via configuration. Noted that the pots would have been better with one side grounded to allow full range of DC input, but they will work ok with only a 2 volt full range as is.

Started working on installation of the overhead lights in the overhead console. Realized that while I had installed wires into the console, they weren't labeled. Had to wriing out the wires installed and label them. Realized I needed to pull labeled wires coiled at the back of the baggage bulk head into the overhead console and did this with a short length of stiff #10 wire. Developed a diagram of how I will connect up all the lights with the wires in the console.
