Brief Description:  Fitting Center Side Panels to Control Panel

Decided that before moving farther on the panel, I should fit the center side panels to the control panel and center console. These are the panels that fit on either side of the tunnel under and behind the control panel and have a place on each side for push/pull cables for the heater, parking brake, and alternate air. I expected that these had already been drilled and labeled by Aerotronics, but when I unwrapped them I found this was not the case, although they had been clear coated.

Removed the breaker/switch panel from the lower center piece and then clamped each side in turn based on the joggles and drilled 4 mounting holes, then installed nut plates to the side panels which sit under the center piece. Placed the center piece with the side panels attached back into the plane, and then re-installed the center console to be sure the center panel was properly placed. Then used a hole duplicator to drill the lower mounting holes which secure both the side panel and the forward tunnel cover. Drilled and will secure with every other screw in the tunnel cover.
