Determined that the GTN 650 connectors are hard up against the bottom of the sub-panel, which will make antenna connection difficult if not impossible. Decided that the best course of action is to notch the bottom of the sub-panel above the GTN connectors.
Removed the GTN rack from the sub-panel. Marked for the notch about 1/2" up, and drilled corner relief holes. Cut the panel using a saber saw. De-burred the cut using a hand deburring tool and then files. Installed a piece of 3/4" angle about an inch above the notch to replace the strength provided by the bent flange on the bottom of the sub-panel. Riveted the angle to the sub-panel with LP4-4 pulled rivets on 3/4" centers. Drilled 3 1/4" holes through the top angle to use to support the main wire harness bundle with tie-wraps.
Re-installed the GTN 650 rack with the wire bundle above the rack but the GTN connectors harness running down the left side next to the rack.
