Brief Description:  Completed G5 Case Frame

Connected the 2 end units together using additional 3/4" angle to form a rigid case frame for the G5. Riveting these angles into place required bucking the rivets as there was not space to use a squeezer.

After completing the frame, drilled holes to secure the front and rear panels to the frame, counter sunk the holes in the panels, and threaded the holes in the angle frame and secured the panels with flat head machine screws.

Will now need to borrow a panel punch from the EAA 302 took crib to make the instrument cut out. Will also use the club's sheet metal brake to fabricate a sheet metal cover for the frame to enclose the top and sides and provide a small glare shield for the G5. This cover will also be secured to the angle frame with machine screws.
