Brief Description:  Evap Shelf & Glass Overhead Console

Reviewed the evaporator drawings and determined that it would be difficult to cut a return air duct through the corrugated baggage bulkhead due to it crossing both upper and lower panels and would impact the stiffener. Discussed with Bill via email and decided to allow the return air to come from the tail cone. While this will likely result in a couple degree higher air temp from the A/C, it will greatly simplify installation.

If after completing the aircraft and flying I determine that I want additional cooling, I can cut in a return air duct from the fuselage through the corrugated bulkhead at that time. Note that the evaporator mounting shelf added between the longerons just behind the baggage bulkhead will provide structural horizontal support to replace the structural aspects of the corrugated bulkhead should I decide to cut it in the future.

Sanded the mounting flanges of the overhead console that I installed a fiberglass strip for transition last week. Cleaned them with alcohol and then added a thin coat of epoxy with micro balloons to smooth out the finish further.

Drilled the fiberglass shelf mounting holes for the evaporator, the drain tube hole (1"), the dryer mounting hole, and the holes for the dryer hoses. Then placed the shelf into position in the tail cone and drilled 4 holes on each side to mount the shelf to the aluminum mount previously installed to the longerons for this purpose.
