Brief Description:  Inventory and Study Documents

Inventoried the air conditioning kit received from Airflow Systems. Took some time to figure out some of the parts.

Reviewed the installation documents and looked at how it might fit within my RV-10. Unfortunately the hoses will not fit in the standard Van's 5/8" conduits that I installed down both sides of the fuselage. Then I was surprised when looking at where the condenser scoop is mounted under the fuselage. I expected it to be mounted directly under the evaporator on the bottom of the tail cone, but instead it is mounted under the fuselage in between the main spar and the steps, with the hose connections coming up into the tunnel in the area of the rear seats. I have asked about alternative connectors to the condenser to bring the hoses straight up into the space under the rear seats. This will require that I drill out all the rivets holding the covers of the rear seats to reach this space, but that will also allow me to access the space needed to run the hoses to the sides. I will probably remove 2 of the conduits and run the hoses directly up the fuselage side wall space. Wish I had known where the equipment would be located and the hose sizes before I closed up the seat bottom covers and floors, as it would have been easy to run them just as it was for the conduits!

Compiled and sent a long list of questions to Bill of Airflow Systems in order to be sure I understand all the installation requirements before I start drilling out rivets and doing the install.
