Brief Description: Fabricated Right Side Wire Cover
Fabricated an F-10110-R right side Wire Cover Assembly from .016" thick 2024T3 Aluminum Sheet 0.016 purchased from ACS for this purpose.
Since Van's Aircraft only makes a wire cover for the left side of the RV-10 and I have run wires down both sides, I decided to fabricate a mirror image wire cover for the right side. Cut out the cover with tin snips. After cleaning up the cuts on the ScotchBrite wheel, I made the bends using a 2 x 4 with appropriatly rounded edge to form the bends. Used a second 2 x 4 to help bend the sheet metal up around the edge. Used a dead blow hammer to help form the bend, first hammering the second 2 x 4, and then hammering directly on the sheet metal.
Drilled the required holes in the fabricated wire cover. Then followed the OP37 plans to match drill holes in the fuselage. Counter sank the fuselage hole, and dimpled the wire cover holes and the F1015D-R Mid Cabin Side Cover hole.
