Brief Description:  Drilling Cabin Top

Re-installed the control panel and glare shield structure to the firewall with clecos. Re-installed the fiberglass cabin top onto the fuselage after finishing the installation of the overhead console into the top. Re-installed the tail cone top skin with clecos.

Match drilled the rivet holes into the rear of the cabin top to the tail cone top skin per the drawings, installing clecos as each hole was drilled.

Determined that the left side rear flange of the cabin top was a little bit too long and so riding up on the longeron in the baggage area. So marked the area that required fiberglass trimming and then removed the tail cone top skin and hoisted the cabin top off of the fuselage by couple of feet. Sanded the fiberglass down in the area of interference, removing about 1/16". Re-installed the cabin top and tail cone top skin and determined that the interference no longer existed.

Match drilled the side rivet holes in the cabin top, pressing from the inside with a small block of week while drilling from the outside with the other hand. Drilled every 5th or 6th hole starting at the rear as indicated in the drawings, and installed clecos as holes were drilled. Then drilled the intermediate holes and clecoed.

Clamped and drilled the rear verticals in the door openings, and then the front verticals per the drawings. Then drilled the bottom/center of the door openings.

Counter sunk the bottom/center holes, but found I don't have the #12 countersink for the sides so am waiting for the arrival of this new countersink just orderef from Cleaveland Tools.
